Saltstone (DEMO)
This is a demo — an early, unfinished prototype. No sound, no menus, no tutorial, no saving. One run takes about ten minutes and I would love some feedback on the idea.
It is basically a tower defence game with some pretty major twist. Very inspired by game loops in Islanders.
About the game
A tower defense where you do not choose what to build (not freely at least).
Every round the shop offers three packs of buildings at a price. You buy one, and whatever is inside it becomes your hand. You have to place all of it before the next wave sails — so the question is never "what do I want here", it is "where does this go, given what I have already put down".
Points are the only resource in the game. Placing a building well earns points. Points are also what buys the next pack. A badly placed farm is not just a wasted tile — it is the tower you cannot afford three rounds later.
